Vilas County Land & Water, Vilas County Zoning, and DNR Permitting are working together to offer a Shorelines 101 workshop at the Boulder Junction Community Center on Monday June 29 from 10:00-11:30 pm. Alternatively, there is a Virtual event on Monday July 27 from Noon – 1:30 pm for those not able to attend in-person.
As a lakefront property owner, do you ever wonder about what you can and can’t; or should and shouldn’t do on your shoreline? Most of us want to balance lake health with having a comfortable home.
Questions that often come up are:
- Can I build a boathouse?
- Can I clearcut my viewing corridor?
- Can I make a path along my shoreline?
- Do I need a permit to fix my riprap on my shoreline?
- Can I remove aquatic plants near my shore?
Get many of your questions answered! Both workshops are identical and will address:
- Best practices for habitat and stormwater on privately owned shorelines
- Vilas County shoreline ordinance compliance on privately owned shorelines
- DNR water permitting requirements on privately owned shorelines
Please RSVP to attend at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScRKlBrXAFc7UxG_AODll1tXjKqZdee8N0w_rPgePJ7jtLFtA/viewform.
If you indicate you want to join the virtual event, we’ll email you the link to join about 1 week before the event.
